1. What are cookies #

Cookies are small text files stored on your device that let a site remember who you are between visits. Without them, you'd need to log in again on every page load and the platform couldn't protect your session.

VerdictPlus uses cookies for three things only: keeping you logged in, understanding how the platform is used, and remembering your preferences. We don't use them for advertising, tracking across other sites, or building a profile of you.

There are three types of cookies on VerdictPlus. Only one of them is required — and only because the site literally cannot function without it.

Anonymised usage data. Helps us find broken features and prioritise what to build next.

Remembers your theme, dismissed banners, and last-viewed category so it feels personal on return.

3. Third-party cookies #

We keep third-party cookies to an absolute minimum. Here are the only two we allow, and only in the specific circumstances described:

Stripe & Paystack (billing pages only)

These cookies only load when you're on a payment or subscription page. They help detect fraudulent card activity — not track your behavior across the web.

Our analytics provider (opt-in only)

Only loads if you've enabled analytics cookies in the preference centre. Data is anonymised at the edge before storage. Never shared with third parties.

No ad networks. Ever.

We don't run Google Ads, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or any retargeting cookies. If we ever add one, we'll ask first and disclose it here before it goes live.

Every browser lets you clear or block cookies. See your browser's privacy settings.

If you block essential cookies

You'll be logged out on every page load and won't be able to post reviews or use your account. That's the trade-off — but it's your call, and we won't nag you about it.
